Your fish will be delivered in leak-proof, insulated packaging and by including a re-useable frozen gel pack your fishbox will happily stay chilled all day; whether that’s sitting on your desk or somewhere safe until you get home from work.
You don’t need to worry about leaks or smell as the products are carefully vacuum packed and frozen gel packs (not wet ice) are used to chill the contents. Oysters and other live shellfish won’t be vacuum packed as they need to breathe, but there will never be a smell.
Don’t discard your gel pack – you can put it into the freezer and use it again to keep your picnic or wine cool!
Our fish is fully prepared and ready to cook or freeze. Simply store in your fridge and use by the date on the label or freeze immediately if you want to eat it later.
Your box will also contain some recipe leaflets for cooking ideas and two microwaveable and ovenable Cook Bags. All types of fish can be cooked in this bag which allows it to cook in its own juices to enhance the flavour and texture. Once the fish has been sealed in the next time you have to touch the product is when it is on your plate. The bag is fully sealed so there are no lingering smells or mess when you cook and even when microwaving you do not need to pierce the product.
The bag comes with full cooking instructions on the outside so all you have to do is follow them for a perfect fish meal.
Why not add ingredients, sauces or vegetables before you cook so that you can keep all your flavours in to make a perfect meal. The bags are the perfect way to cook healthy tasty food in the fishes own oils.
Delivery
You will receive an order confirmation email, a second email when your Fishbox has been dispatched, then a third email or text message from DPD on the morning of delivery to advise of the estimated delivery time.
Deliveries are made by DPD couriers to Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and Mainland UK only.
The courier collects each day around 1.00pm so any orders placed before 7.00am should be dispatched that day**.
Any orders placed after 7.00am (and before 7.00am the next morning) will be dispatched the next day**.
eg orders placed after 7.00am on a Monday and before 7.00am on a Tuesday will be dispatched on the Tuesday**.
All orders placed after 7.00am on Thursday will be dispatched the following week.

Please be advised that the delivery will most likely be between the hours of 07.30 and mid-day – It may be beneficial to have your package delivered to a work address. Our courier will email you with a one hour window in which your delivery will arrive.
Alternatively – specify on the order form that you authorise the courier to leave the package with a neighbour, or in a garage (for example) to save you waiting in all day. Obviously this does not require a signature – and would therefore be at your own risk.

Storage
Our fish is fully prepared and ready to cook or freeze. Simply store in it’s packaging in your fridge and use by the date on the label or freeze immediately if you want to eat it later.
To ensure that your fish always tastes great, you should observe the following storage tips:

- Store fresh, raw fish towards the bottom of the fridge

- Fresh fish, unless it states on the packaging, is best eaten within two days

- If freezing your fish for later use, store at -18C or colder
- Defrost fish overnight in the fridge
It is recommended that if fish is stored at -18C the maximum storage periods be:
- White Fish 6-8 months
- Smoked Fish 3-4 months
- Oil rich Fish 2- 3 months
- Shellfish 3 months
Mussels or oysters need to be consumed or cooked from live and we would not recommend freezing them at any point.
Please note: All products are subject to availability – particularly during extended periods of bad weather that restrict the local fleet from fishing activities. Boxes will be dispatched when we have all of the product contents to complete the order.
